The City of Amsterdam’s Bicycle Policy Program is currently conducting a scoping and research exercise for how to include and operationalize “inclusive cycling” for its 2024-2028 Bicycle Policy Agenda, accompanied by the newest policy initiative “Amsterdam Makes Space” (link to Dutch site).
We are currently conducting research in Amsterdam to explore how cycling can promote urban transportation inclusion and social equity. We are reviewing evidence, collaborating with the Bicycle Program staff, conducting fieldwork, and identifying policy measures to address these challenges. Our findings are being shared widely to inform policy and public discussions.
