How does the bike tour work?
The bike tour last 2 hours* (check availability), January – September 2025, several days a week. The cost is €53 per person. There are 5 open spots per tour. Participants need to arrange their own bicycles to take part.
*Depending on street conditions, some excursions run for 2.5 hours.
Get a bike rental discount
We can recommend We Bike Amsterdam Rentals at Spuistraat 30, the price for a handbrake bike is €12 for a 4-hour rental. 10% of discount is applicable, just mention us! We Bike recommends going to rent bicycles between 10:30-12:30 or 14:30-17:00 to avoid peak busy hours and receive the best service.

Asaf Oz
Asaf holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Amsterdam. Having lived in Amsterdam for 8 years, passionate about the city and about making cities liveable for people, he is excited to show you all about Amsterdam’s history as a cycling city and its cycling infrastructures during the study excursions of the Urban Cycling Institute. With a previous experience as a tour guide, he now works in an e-cargo bike sharing company in the Netherlands.
Pedro Miele
Pedro is an urban planner and engineer. He has performed research on the impact of cycling in communities and worked in mobility and infrastructure projects of different scales. He sees active mobility as a tool for meaningful change towards a sustainable future for our cities and hopes to share insights on how change is brought about in urban environments.

to explore the urban fabric of this Flemish city, its cycling infrastructure successes
and ongoing improvements, and gain insight into what it takes to create a

How does the bike tour work?
The tour lasts 90 minutes and runs several days a week from January to September
2026, hosting small groups of up to 5 riders. The tour starts at Sint-Pieters Station.
Participants must arrange their own bicycles; rental options are available nearby,
including Blue Bike and Fietsambassade bicycle services.
Meet Your Guide
Ethan Crossman
Currently a student of Urban Planning at the University of Ghent and originally holding a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Linguistics from the University of New Hampshire, your guide has been exploring Ghent by bicycle since moving to the city in July 2025.
While still new to professional practice, he brings a genuine, daily-life perspective on cycling, shaped by real experiences navigating and getting to know Ghent’s campus and streets. His background includes a GIS internship auditing
bicycle parking to make cycling more convenient for students. He’s excited to share how everyday cycling in Ghent feels for new arrivals and curious locals alike.
