This report is a collaboration between the Urban Cycling Institute and the Association EBN. Its purpose is to disseminate the discussions and knowledge exchange that took place during sessions sponsored by the Association EBM at the Cycling Research Board Conference, held in September 2025 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
CRBAM is the flagship conference of Urban Cycling Institute that adopts a distinctive approach to academic exchange, prioritising clear goals and tangible outcomes. Each session is designed to collaboratively produce a shared output, either a joint research question or a policy recommendation, developed through multidisciplinary dialogue. Instead of traditional presentation formats, CRBAM sessions rely on interactive methodologies, including “liberating structures”, to ensure that all participants actively shape the discussion. In this setting, no one is a passive observer; each session fosters peer-to-peer engagement and collective knowledge production.
Within this framework, the sessions sponsored by Association EBM offered a space to explore research and policy perspectives closely aligned with the association’s mission. This report therefore, analyses how the ideas, debates, and outcomes emerging from these sessions contribute to advancing association EBM’s core interests
